Booking Through Thursday

What’s the worst book you’ve read recently? (I figure it’s easier than asking your all-time worst, because, well, it’s recent!)

Villette by Charolette Bronte

Long, Boring and I just didn't care about the Main Character. This is the type of book that turns readers off to Classics. Many people already think they are irrelevant, then you get something that is a yawn, and it just solidifies their thoughts.

Luckily I'm not one of those people, but this one, I would not recommend.

I never read this one so I can't say but like you, I do not think classics are irrelevant. I only hope that others who think so probably never read a classic in their life.

I love the classics although I have not read this book. I could never think the classics are irrelevant. Interesting post. Happy BTT!

I think I'm more selective when it comes to reading classics than I am when I pick up contemporary novels. I just know at 31 years of age, I will NEVER be reading Moby Dick or Ulysses, or (as of now) probably Villette.

I chose The Reader by Bernhard Schlink as my most recent BAD read. You can check out my thoughts here.

You make a good point about why some people don't enjoy certain classics. I haven't read this particular Bronte book, but I appreciate your thoughts and will keep it in mind when choosing a classic novel to read. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

I don't read classics. I just have too many other genres that I love to read.
