ROW 80 - Check in 4-6

1st post for Round 2 (although this is my 1st round) Monday was not much of a writing day for me. I did work on my assignment for WVU some. Tuesday I did more reading on the craft. I'm reading 2 books Writing Fiction for Dummies and The Modern Library Writers Workshop. It takes me a long time to get through them because I'm always taking notes. I'm also listening to Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg. I'll be working on my class assignments this week, one of which is to edit a short story.

I also did some long-hand writing in my book. Just germs, but I hope to put them into a future story or work into a book idea.

I didn't get much writing done on Monday either (I teach mon nights). Since you're doing a bit of research, I highly suggest Stephen King's On Writing (even if you write a different genre, its a must read for writers) and Strunk and White's Elements of Style (it's a short but amazing reference book). Good luck with your goals this week!

Sounds like you're working away. Not all work is actually writing, but still important.

Good luck during the rest of the week.

Notes are good. So are germs. :)

You might not be writing but you are most definitely preparing. Exciting! Once you are done reading, don't forget you may not write the way the books advise. Trust your own creative process and follow your gut.

Thinking about it, reading about it all part of the process. Glad you decided to join in on this round. The books sound great. Ditto Claudia's advice if you haven't read it yet. Stephen King's book is informative.
