I See Sequels (Christmas Edition)

The Santa Clause (1994) Color - Starring - Tim Allen, David Krumholtz
97 min.
(from Netflix) This Christmas, the snow hits the fan. When Scott Calvin accidentally kills Santa, he suddenly finds himself saddled with the job of jolly Saint Nick. With clever forays into the mysteries of Santa and Allen's hilarious transformation from Scrooge into a true believer, The Santa Clause will delight kids as well as grown-ups, any time of the year.

The Santa Clause 2 (2002) Color - Starring - Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell
104 min.
(from Netflix) Better watch out! The Big Guy in Red is coming to town once again. This time, Scott Calvin, also known as Santa Claus, finds out there's a clause in his contract requiring him to take on a wife. He has to leave the North Pole to fulfill his obligations, or else he'll be forced to give up his Yuletide gig.

It's beyond me why they waited 8 years to do this sequel. The first one was unique and funny, and this one was also very charming.

The Santa Clause 3 (2006) - Color - Starring - Tim Allen, Martin Short
92 min.
(from Netflix) Tim Allen stars in the third installment of his Santa Clause franchise, which finds Scott Calvin -- alias Santa -- trying to balance the birth of a new baby Claus with threats from evil Jack Frost, who's scheming to take over the Christmas holiday.

This was a much more interesting story than the second installment. Martin Short and Tim Allen are a great pair, although I did miss Krumholtz as head elf.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) Color - Starring Chevy Chase, Beverly DeAngelo, Juliette Lewis
97 min.
(from Netflix) Deck the halls with boughs of laughter -- the Griswolds are back! Clark, Ellen and the kids gear up for the holidays in this installment of the ""Vacation"" series. As per usual, all the good intentions in the world can't save the family from disaster...or Cousin Eddie. This special edition includes brand new special features.

Another Christmas movie that took me a while to watch, I thought it would be silly, but it was actually funny.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure (2003) - Color - Starring Randy Quaid
83 min.
(from Netflix) 'Tis the season! Floyd Griswold's rude, rube Cousin Eddie returns with his wife for another outrageous Christmas vacation. When Eddie loses his job and his boss fears he'll sue the company, Eddie's brood receives an all-expenses-paid holiday tour of the South Pacific, only to be shipwrecked on a remote island. Gilligan and castaways have nothin' on this hapless crew.

Nope, Never seen it, and by the dismil ratings, don't think I will. But hey, if you like that sorta thing, here it is.

National Lampoon's Holiday Reunion (2004) Color - Starring - Judge Rinehold
90 min.
(from Netflix) Judge Reinhold steps into the boots long worn by Chevy Chase in yet another send-up of family and tradition in National Lampoon's Holiday Reunion. Albert Snider (Reinhold) wants to reach out to long-lost relatives during the Christmas season, so against his brood's wishes, he packs them up from their suburban idyll and takes them to rural America for a reunion with his cousin and his wild and wacky family.

Another poorly rated sequel.
