I have decided the best course of action is to read the books on my Kindle. I have a lot of quick reads on there, and I can just carry this in my travels. So I went through my Kindle list and then looked on Amazon at the page count to make sure it was a doable size.
Here is the list as of now:
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka (54 Pages)
Samuel the Seeker by Upton Sinclair (194 Pages)
Fanny Hill: Memoirs Of A Woman of Pleasure by John Cleland (176 Pages)
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett (208 Pages)
The Moneychangers by Upton Sinclair (206 Pages)
At the Mountain of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft (224)
My estimation is about an 8 hour day of reading. I am hoping to read them all, but if not, at least 4 of them.

I also have a new long term goal. On Goodreads.com there is a group that was based on someone on another board wanting to read 1 million pages in their lifetime. Very grand goal. On the group, we have to start with this year, but I've been keeping track for a few years now. I won't count all the books I read as a young woman, but as far as I've been keeping track I've read (from 2004) to date I've read 69,995 pages.
This year has been low because I really got into the audio books. Only 930,005 pages to go. To even have a chance at it, I'll have to read a minimum of 25,000 pages a year. That rounds out to about 83 books a year for 37 years. LOL!

Great list! I'm going to put mine up sometime tomorrow (Friday). I'm planning on reading for most of the 24 hours, except I have a library sale on Saturday and my mom and I will probably go out to lunch.
How do you like that read-a-thon button? I made that for them!
I love that button, I was using it somewhere (minus the type) as an avitar. LOL! I'd love to read for 24 hours, but I don't know if I will be able to stay awake.
I think that's a great idea, reading them on your Kindle! If I had one I would use it! LOL
Talk to you on Sat. good luck!
I read At the Mountains of Madness last year and I have to say I was a bit disappointed by it. It was my first and only Lovecraft, I do plan and giving one of his others a try.
I have The Metamorphosis on my bookshelf...that's a great idea for today, it's been yeeeears since I've read it.
Good luck and ENJOY!
