Bookcases - completed (almost)

The lage bookcase is done. It took me a long, long time. I got rid of almost 1/2 of what I had. I wanted to arrange them by genre, but I couldn't really do that, I did it as much as I could. However, it is neat, and I can read the spines, and find things, so that was the purpose -- wasn't it?

Here is the smaller bookshelf that is almost done. I have the bottom shelf still to go, but I'll have my daughter do that, since bending down is a little difficult for me. The first picture is how one of the shelves used to look, they all pretty much looked like this. The bottom picture is how it is shaping up.

de-clutter Part 2

This will be a sight you will probably never see again, my bookshelf, sans books. They are in piles on the floor. The phase I am in at the moment is organizing by genre.

I'm donating some, and tossing some. I need to be able to neatly fit all of my books on this bookshelf and a smaller one that I own. If they don't fit, I have re-think what I own.

Below I have posted some pictures of how my bookshelf used to look. They aren't recent, so think of it as being much worse.

There were so many books on the shelf, it was starting to bow. I had all my art books on the top of the shelf, because there was no else to put them, and they weren't even neatly placed.

So I am about 1/2 done with the genre organizing, wish me luck.

What a Mess!

No, I've not started on the bookshelf yet. Above it is filled with Art books mostly. The only way to get them all up there is to stack them in piles. I probably won't get to them until the 2nd week of September when I am on vacation, but it is going to be a challenge.







Here are some of the other shelves, what a nightmare. I guess we'll have to take it one shelf at a time.





And then I'll have to work on the smaller book shelf.




And let's not forget the baker shelf full of books.

The Book Shelf From Hell

Don't pass out.

Over the next few months I will TRY to organize this. This is the biggest shelf in my house. I have one small one and one bakers rack filled with books. Thought it doesn't look like there is a method to the madness, there is. However, there has to be a better way to organize don't you think?

Now this was taken a few years back, does it look any different? Yes, it looks worse.

I will be updating my progress, so stay tuned.

On a similar note, I cleaned up my LIBRARY THING.

The only books on there now are the one's I've read. Not ones I want to read or are just sitting on my shelves. All books read and rated (and tagged).
